drop down menu.
3 - Close dbase
4 - Open dbase
5 - Close the database DBASESAMPLE, or whichever database
you opened, from the command window
6 - Close dbase, and bingo, a GPF pops up.

Please be more specific. I cannot replicate a GPF here, based on the
steps you've given. By "more specific", what I mean is that your steps
don't tell me *exactly* what to do, for example:

* Click the 'Tables' tab on the Navigator
* Select 'DBASESAMPLES' from the 'Look In' combobox
* In the Command Window, type:
CLOSE DATABASE
* Select 'DBASESAMPLES' from the 'Look In' combobox
* In the Command Window, type:
CLOSE DATABASE DBASESAMPLES
*** GPF

Note that I do not get a GPF using the steps shown, this was just an
example of what I'm looking for. Your steps are not really clear, and
I cannot reproduce anything following them.

You're quite right, my message was'nt clear enough.
Apologies.

From PLUS IDE...

1 - Click the 'Tables' tab on the Navigator
2 - Select 'DBASESAMPLES' or any other database from the
drop down menu.
3 - Close PLUS (file menu, exit option)
4 - Run PLUS
5 - Close the database DBASESAMPLE from the command
window -Close database DBSAMPLES.
6 - Close PLUS (file menu, exit option) and, bingo, a GPF
pops up.
